The 1010music Blackbox 2 is the evolution of one of the most beloved portable samplers on the market, building on its predecessor with a suite of new creative tools and a more refined workflow. At its core is a high-resolution 4" colour touchscreen that brings clarity and control to every session. The track screen can load up to four One-Shot, Loop, Slicer, or Multisample instruments simultaneously, with One-Shot and Loop instruments supporting 16 samples per patch — giving musicians an expansive sonic palette to work with on the fly.

Designed for both studio and stage, the Blackbox 2 introduces battery power for the first time, making it a truly portable instrument for mobile jamming and live performance. USB-C host and device ports enable multichannel USB audio and MIDI connectivity, while the flexible I/O — 1 stereo audio in, 3 stereo outs, and a stereo headphones output — ensures it integrates seamlessly into any setup. Samples stream directly from microSD, allowing long WAVs and detailed multisampled instruments to play back without limitation, with project and sample capacity limited only by the card size.

The Blackbox 2 is packed with performance and production tools including step, grid, and piano roll sequencing with probability, beat chopping and slicing, automatic loop BPM adjustment, and internal resampling to layer effects or capture ideas instantly. New Launch, Scene, Song, Mixing, and Effects screens bring a bento-style workflow to beatmaking and live performance, while flexible MIDI integration with extensive MIDI CC support makes it a natural fit for any hardware-driven setup.
