The sE8 Cardioid Capsule is the studio standard of the sE8 range, available on its own so an existing sE8 body can be converted from omni or supercardioid in seconds. It is the pattern most engineers reach for first: directional enough to control bleed, forgiving enough to sit anywhere from drum overheads to acoustic guitar. A sophisticated backplate design gives the capsule a smooth, balanced response that never turns harsh or aggressive, even on hi-hats and cymbals. The ultra-thin three-micron gold-sputtered diaphragm captures fine transient detail, and a precision electrode keeps the response linear and natural across the band. Every capsule is hand-crafted and individually tuned at sE's own factory. Paired with an sE8 body, the capsule retains all of the microphone's electronics features, including the switchable low-cut filters, the 10 dB and 20 dB pads, and the transformerless Class-A output.
